For crossing the border, a chip and a valid vaccination certificate are officially required, along with the passport issued for your dog, which you can get from your veterinarian. It’s important to note that a recent vaccination takes effect only after three weeks, so your dog will be considered vaccinated after this period. If you’re behind on vaccinations, make sure to visit the vet at least this early.

Here in Italy, you can bring your dog almost everywhere, including shopping, restaurants, and even museums. Of course, always carry a doggy bag to clean up after your pet if needed. Bars and even some pharmacies provide fresh water for dogs, and most parks also have places where you can give your dog a drink.
