Parking
On the streets, parking spaces marked with white lines are free, blue ones are paid, and yellow ones are reserved (for deliveries, police, or disabled parking). If you see a sign with ‘ZTL’ at the beginning of a street, it means it’s forbidden to enter that street.
When looking for parking in narrow streets, always make sure to park right next to the sidewalk and fold in the side mirror facing the street.
Parking lots, parking garages
Park San Giusto – Located in the city center, right next to the Roman Theatre, in the heart of Mount San Giusto. You can take a lift inside the parking lot to the top of the hill. It’s often full, and cars line up in front of it. 2 euros/hour, 20 euros/day.
The parking area in front of the coast guard building, extending to the marina, is not recommended for long-term parking, as the hotel ships arriving 1-2 times a week often close it off and tow away the cars left behind. If no ship is docked, it’s perfect for daytime parking.
Saba parking garages – (search for Trieste) these parking garages usually have space, and the farther they are from the city center, the cheaper they are. 1.10-2.10 euros/hour, 12-18 euros/day.
